What is a buccal facial and how does it work?

A buccal facial is an intra-oral sculpting technique in which a facialist massages the facial muscles from inside and outside the mouth. It releases jaw tension, encourages lymphatic drainage and lifts the cheekbones and jawline without an invasive procedure. At Beauty Edit Mayfair it is 60 or 90 minutes.

What it does

Does it hurt?

It is firm and it is worked with gloves. Where you hold most tension you will feel it most, and your facialist adjusts the pressure with you as she goes. Most customers describe it as a release rather than a pain.

When will I see a difference?

The same day. The lower face reads more defined and the jaw feels looser immediately. How long it holds depends on how much tension you put back, which is why a course suits people who clench.

How often should I have one?

Every four to six weeks holds the change for most people. If you are grinding at night, closer together at the start and then spaced out.

What is the difference between the Express and the Signature?

Thirty minutes. The Express at £145 is the muscle work and little else. The Signature at £215 wraps a full facial around it, so you get the release and the skin treatment in one appointment.

Can I add buccal massage to another facial?

Yes. It is available as a 20 minute add on at £45 alongside any Express or Signature facial.
